TTG Digital reveals how to make the most of WTM 2015
Looking ahead to this week’s WTM in London, TTG Digital lists lots of prize-winning opportunities and happy hours for liquid refreshment. Here are some examples:
Take a selfie
•At the Jordan stand (ME140-150), take a photo with Lawrence of Arabia and a spaceman and tweet it to win a holiday to Jordan.
•At the Onyx Hospitality Group stand (AS348), you could bag a holiday to the Maldives by taking a creative selfie with a pair of inflatable flip-flops.
•Take a picture on the SriLankan Airlines stand (AS25) for a chance to win flights. The daily winner will be the person who takes the picture that earns the most likes
•Kenya is setting WTM visitors on a treasure hunt this year – keep your eyes peeled for Raffi the lion, who will be hidden somewhere at ExCeL. Tweet a picture saying where you spot him to @magicalKenyaUK using #RescueRaffiWTM – and visit the stand (AF270) for a lucky dip prize.
•Share a selfie with Oman’s dolls (ME500) to win an iPad Mini.
•Two tourist boards are celebrating milestone anniversaries with giveaways for agents who are quick off the mark. The first 50 agents who visit the Maldives stand (AS100) and mention Maldives 50 will take away a goody bag and the first 60 agents who wish the Jamaica Tourist Board (CA340) a happy 60th anniversary will receive a gift.
•Affordable Car Hire is giving away a week’s free car hire every day – drop your business card at the stand (GV640) to enter the draw.
•And while you’re in Global Village, pop by the Tourico Holidays Inc stand (GV240) and leave another business card for the chance to stay in an Omni hotel.
•If you fancy winning a £100 voucher to spend in London’s finest South American restaurants, make a beeline for the Metropolitan Touring stand (LA601).
•Thai Airways will be giving away flights on Tuesday at 4pm. Visit the stand (AS330) before that to make sure your name is in the draw.
Not something you see every day
•On the France stand (EU2000) there will be a poignant collection of 540 extraordinary woollen soldiers, conceived by artist Delit Maille, and knitted by 500 knitters from five continents.
•WTM’s biggest selfie? Las Vegas will be attempting to set the record at 11am on Monday (NA250) with the help of Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing.
•A legendary cycling champion – Sir Bradley Wiggins will make a guest appearance on the Balearics stand (EU1550) on Tuesday at midday.
Happy hours
•PromPeru (LA400) hosts a daily Pisco Sour Hour, with fresh cocktails served every day 12-1pm.
•Make a note to grab a drink with the South Pacific Tourism Organisation (AS255) on Monday at 4.30-5.30pm.
•To sample Taiwanese beer, speciality cakes and see some top-notch entertainment, hot foot it to the Taiwan stand (AS540) on Monday 4-6pm.
•Tuesday at 2.30-4pm is happy hour on the Israel stand (EU850) when there will be Israeli wine and snacks from Hummus Bros.
•TAP is holding a wine-tasting and networking event at its stand (EU1010) on Tuesday from 4.30-5.30pm with the chance to win flights to Lisbon and Porto.
•Wednesday is Magical Kenya Cultural Day, with cultural ambassadors on stand (AF270).
•Vietnam Airlines and Vietnam Tourism will be hosting a joint reception on their stands (AS170 and AS270) from 4pm on Wednesday, with Vietnamese entertainment, snacks and beer.
•KwaZulu-Natal will be serving up bunny chow from 4.30pm on Wednesday on its stand (AF300).
•India (IN300) will offer beer, wine, soft drinks and Indian canapes on Wednesday from 5pm.
•Stay until 8pm on Wednesday night and take advantage of the WTM Festivals spirit!
