The Swedish-listed company has signed a portfolio deal for six more hotels in Egypt including four in Cairo and two on the beach.
Radisson Hotel Group has announced the signing of six new hotels in Egypt as part of a portfolio deal across a number of its brands.
The deal, for four properties in Cairo, one in the Gulf of Suez resort of Ain Sokhna, 70 kilometres from Egypt’s capital, and one in the better known resort of Hurghada, was signed with existing business partner Zaghloul Holdings.
Zaghloul is a Cairo-based business conglomerate operating in real estate, contracting, tourism, commercial retail, entertainment and sports investment.
The six hotels are destined to be the Radisson Collection Hotel Cairo Heliopolis, the Radisson Blu Serviced Apartments Cairo Heliopolis, the Radisson Blu Hotel Cairo Golf City, the Radisson Hotel New Cairo, the Radisson Hotel & Resort Ain Sokhna and the Radisson Blu Hotel & Resort Makadi Bay, Hurghada.
The deal will mean that the Swedish-listed group becomes one of the largest international operators in the country, and it will also cement Radisson Blu’s position as the leading brand in the capital in the coming years.
Luxury in Cairo
Radisson Collection Hotel Cairo Heliopolis, to open in Q2 2021, will be the first Radisson Collection hotel in Egypt, part of a new mixed-use development that includes a shopping mall and offices.
Located in the affluent Heliopolis district, it will be just a kilometre away from Cairo International Airport, the second busiest airport in Africa, featuring 425 rooms and “luxurious suites”, plus four food and drink outlets, 2000sqm of meeting and events space including two ballrooms, and leisure facilities with indoor and outdoor pools.
Radisson Blu Serviced Apartments Cairo Heliopolis will be set in the same mixed-use development, with 163 upper upscale apartments featuring one- and two-bedroom and “luxurious apartments”, opening in Q3 2019.
To open in Q4 2020, the 255-room Radisson Blu Hotel Cairo Golf City continues the group’s “strategic expansion into the north of Cairo” with the development of an “urban resort” in a prominent commercial district in Obour City.
The 107-room Radisson Hotel New Cairo, to open in Q1 2020, will be located in New Cairo, an area southeast of the city that is home to a number of international companies, malls and a golf course.

The Radisson Hotel & Resort Ain Sokhna, to be located about 50 kilometres south of the town, will feature 173 rooms and suites and open in Q4 2021, with direct beach access, “an international restaurant”, a nightclub and three outdoor pools.
