Retail deal signed for new Fjord Line cruise ships

Shipping line’s vessels sail between Norway and the rest of Europe

Fjord Line and Gebr Heinemann have signed a new five-year retail deal for the line’s two new cruise ships, the first of which is scheduled to begin sailing a year from now. Broadly, the contract relates to the sale onboard of perfumes and cosmetics, spirits and tobacco, fashions and accessories, confectionery and delicacies.
Fjord Line operates transport between Norway and the rest of Europe such as a high-speed catamaran connecting Kristiansand and Hirtshals and a passenger ferry sailing between Bergen, Stavanger and Hirtshals. It also carries cargo of all kinds. The company says that the new ships will bring “a new era for ferry traffic” between Norway and the EU, both in size and comfort. Heinemann, based in Hamburg, runs 230 Duty Free shops and supplies more than 1,000 customers in more than 70 countries.
