Rezidor appoints new area VP Nordics

Appointment of Thomas Engelhart effective February 1

Rezidor has announced the appointment of Thomas Engelhart as Area Vice President Nordics, effective from February 1.

A Danish and Norwegian national, Engelhart will be based in Stockholm. He will be responsible for all of the group’s 58 Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson hotels in the Nordics and will report directly to Olivier Harnisch, Rezidor’s executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Engelhart is a hotel management graduate from Hosta Glion in Switzerland, with an MBA from Ceram Grand École in France. Having held general manager positions in different hotels in Scandinavia, he was subsequently appointed president of First Hotels.

He then joined American Express, responsible for Supplier Relation Group for the Nordics and the Netherlands before being promoted to vice president merchant services EMEA airlines.

He next joined Scandic Hotels as senior vice president commercial operations and brand experience before going to KF & Coop AB as managing director, responsible for commercial strategy. Most recently, he had a senior post at Klarna AB, a Swedish-based company providing online payment solutions.

“We are delighted to welcome Thomas to our team. Rezidor has its strong roots in the Nordics, and the region remains one of our key European markets,” Harnisch said.

“With his broad professional experience and his profound knowledge of the different Nordic markets, Thomas will further drive our area operations to the benefit of our owners, guests and employees.
