A first day aboard AmaWaterways’ Christmas-decorated AmaLyra

Day one of a “live voyage report” aboard AmaWaterways’ AmaLyra, which has been decorated for Christmas, is provided by AvidCruiser.com. The “friendly city of Nuremberg” is a short flight from the universal hub of Frankfurt and a transfer service to the vessel, which is docked on the Main-Danube Canal, has been prearranged. On the “strikingly elegant” vessel the author is escorted to one of the spacious junior suites. The dinner is “admittedly fantastic”, while “no request is too much” for the personnel onboard. Among the extra touches are complimentary Wi-Fi internet access and bottled water; complimentary beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks at dinner; and round-the-clock coffee and tea in The Lounge.
“If I had to make a deep-ocean comparison, so far I would say AmaWaterways is on par with the likes of Silversea,” the author writes.
