Royal Caribbean appoints Nordic managing director

Mats Jacobsson to also be responsible for Celebrity Cruises and Azamara
Mats Jacobsson has been appointed as the new Nordic managing director of the cruise line Royal Caribbean International. The Swedish national will have overall responsibility for Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
After more than 20 years of managerial experience in the aerospace industry, Jacobsson starts his new job on June 8. His track record includes spells at Air Berlin and SAS.
“Jacobsson’s extensive experience in the aviation industry makes him extremely well equipped to take RCL ahead in the Nordic region,” said Dominic Paul, the company’s chief executive. “We are experiencing very positive development in the Nordic market and with Jacobson on board we are confident that we will further strengthen our position in the area.”
Jacobsson previously worked as senior vice president for distribution and vice president for international sales at Air Berlin, and both vice president of network planning and director for marketing and sales at SAS.
