Air Malta flights on 21 routes including to Casablanca, Kiev, Moscow, Tunis and Zurich can now be booked via Ryanair.
Ryanair has announced a new partnership with Air Malta that will allow Ryanair passengers to book Air Malta flights on the low-cost carrier’s own website.
Maltese customers can now browse and book Air Malta flights on 21 routes from the island to eight countries across Africa, Asia and Europe, namely Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Morocco, Tunisia, Israel, Russia and Ukraine.
Ryanair says the move is part of a drive to improve the passenger experience, and could it be a sign of things to come. It already has a similar partnership allowing Air Europa flights to be booked through the Ryanair site.
“Amazon of travel”
The Dublin-based LCC already offers 53 routes to and from Malta and is promising to deliver 2.7 million passengers a year.
“This partnership is the latest AGB [Always Getting Better] enhancement as we continue our journey to becoming the ‘Amazon of travel’,” claimed Ryanair CCO David O’Brien.
Charles Mangion, Air Malta’s chairman, commented: “Over the last year, Air Malta has made significant improvements not only to expand its network of destinations with more frequencies and destinations but also changing its product in terms of fare structure and onboard service.
“This agreement will also help Air Malta increase its visibility in overseas markets and tap into new revenue streams. We look forward to further cooperation between the two airlines for the benefit of our clients.”
