Ryanair protester chains himself to goalpost

Man’s t-shirt said: “Ryanair: lowest wages guaranteed”

A man protesting against Ryanair’s recruitment policy managed to stop a major football match when he handcuffed himself to the goalposts. The Premier League match between Manchester City and Everton was delayed at about five minutes before half time and police were forced to use metal bolt-cutters to remove the protestor. The man was wearing a t-shirt that said: “Ryanair: Europe’s greatest training robbers. Lowest wages guaranteed. Stop. Recruitment scamming our children.”
The 46-year-old man was arrested for pitch invasion and described as a “professional protester.” A police spokesman said: “He has been taken to a police station, where he remains, to be questioned.” Everton went on to win the match 1-0.
