SAS “is a safe and good partner” for Nordic operator
SAS and Apollo, one of the biggest tour operators in the Nordic region, revealed this morning that they are extending their cooperation on charter flights within Europe.
The agreement, worth SEK 1 billion (€105 million), applies to the coming 2017-18 winter and summer season and means that SAS will fly Apollo customers from 20 locations in Sweden, Denmark and Norway to 30 destinations in Europe.
“We are looking forward to further strengthening our partnership, now over 15 years, with Apollo,” says Markus Ek, global corporate and agent sales manager at SAS.
“SAS continues investing in new aircraft and upgrading existing cabs to its new design, and later this autumn the market’s fastest Wi-Fi will also begin to be installed on SAS’s short and medium-sized fleet.”
It is due to the airline’s extensive aircraft fleet that Apollo can offer direct flights from airports both in metropolitan areas and regionally in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. SAS is Apollo’s largest external partner beyond its own Stockholm-based carrier Novair.
“For Apollo, it is natural to continue cooperation with SAS – a Scandinavian company that is a safe and good partner for Apollo. Our customers also appreciate the service and reliability that SAS offers with direct flights to all our destinations,” explains Leif Vase Larsen, CEO of DER Touristik Nordic. DER Touristik bought Apollo in 2015.
