SAS: Half a million more seats in winter program

New routes, summer destinations continue, frequencies rising
SAS is launching several new routes in its 2015-16 winter program, continuing some summer destinations, and increasing frequencies on popular routes. It is also boosting the number of departures between Copenhagen and San Francisco to daily flights.
The winter program will gradually come into force from late October. The new routes will give passengers new opportunities to fly for city breaks and ski holidays, with direct flights between Oslo and the Lithuanian capital Vilnius four times a week, Bergen and Warsaw over Christmas and New Year, and Stockholm and Munich for the ski season.
Summer routes to continue to winter include Stockholm to Budapest, Malta and Faro and from Copenhagen to Barcelona. Over Christmas and New Year, SAS says it will offer the biggest ever number of seats between Scandinavia and Southern Europe.
SAS is also increasing the number of departures on key routes for business travellers. Flights from both Copenhagen and Stockholm to Manchester are being increased by a daily departure. There will also be a better afternoon timetable from Oslo to Bergen and up to 18 daily departures.
There will also be bigger aircraft on existing routes from Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo to London Heathrow, while the Gothenburg-London route will switch from Heathrow to Stansted. SAS says it is increasing capacity from Scandinavia to London by over 50,000 extra seats.
The new routes and greater frequencies mean that the SAS winter program will offer over half a million more seats during the coming winter season than last year.
