SAS scraps Gothenburg flights for summer 2016

Move to allow SAS to concentrate on leisure and long-haul
Scandinavia’s biggest airline is scrapping routes between Gothenburg and the key European cities of London, Paris and Brussels next summer.
The SAS services will be shelved between June 20 and August 31, allowing the airline to focus on leisure-based routes over the holiday period.
“We are constantly assessing where we can utilize our capacity better and make ongoing changes. So half a year in advance we can see that the best use of our planes and staff is on other routes,” airline spokeswoman Anna Vibeke Nielsen told Check-In.dk.
Passengers with tickets for the routes can either cancel or be re-routed via Copenhagen or Stockholm.
Two months ago, SAS revealed it was cutting nine other routes from Nordic cities including flights from Gothenburg to Dublin and Berlin. But SAS has also announced new long-haul routes, from Sweden to Los Angeles and Hong Kong and from Oslo and Copenhagen to Miami.
