SAS set to launch new “café lounges”

Lounges are designed for SAS’s most frequent flyers

SAS says it will unveil its new Café Lounge concept at Trondheim and Tromsø airports in Norway during April and May. The lounges will complement existing SAS lounges and are designed for the airline’s most frequent flyers.

The idea is specifically to meet the needs of these frequent flyers. SAS Café Lounge will offer “a dedicated and relaxing environment” where they can “spend time in and work effectively”, the airline says. They will be located close to departure gates and offer wi-fi access, tea, coffee and pastries.

After the first SAS Café Lounge opens in Trondheim in April and the second in Tromsø in May, further lounges are promised at airports elsewhere in Scandinavia.

“We are absolutely thrilled to launch yet another in-demand product, the SAS Café Lounge,” exclaimed Eivind Roald, the airline’s executive vice president commercial at SAS. “Our most frequent flyers appreciate time-saving services such as Fast Track, which is why we are now offering an additional service designed especially for them. Fast flows are important on our domestic market and customers can work effectively in our Café Lounges located close to the gate.”
