Scandic: best hotel chain for sustainability

Chain voted most sustainable hotel chain by consumers

For the third year in a row, Scandic has been voted the most sustainable hotel chain by 9,000 Swedish consumers who participated in Sustainable Brands, a survey that ranks how companies work on environmental and social responsibility. In total, across all sectors, Scandic is in 16th place out of 228.
Scandic says this shows how it is succeeding in getting its message across to a wide audience. “In the past year we’ve put a number of measures in place to make our hotels even greener and more socially responsible,” Inger Mattsson, director for sustainable business at Scandic, said. “Swedish consumers recognise our work on these issues. Our television purchasing process, for example, led to more eco-labelled televisions being available in the general market.”
