Scandic reveals two more signature hotels

Two more cities to join first property in Stockholm
Just as Scandic Hotels prepares to open its first “signature hotel” in Stockholm on May 10, it has announced that two more properties will be profiled to become part of its signature collection.
The two ready to join the list are the prestigious and historic Hotel Norge in Bergen and the characteristic and centrally located Scandic Marski in Helsinki.
Scandic revealed last year that it would expand its collection of signature hotels with a handful of elite properties in the Nordic region in the coming years, both through rebranding existing hotels and new establishments.
The hotels, which will be marketed under their own names with the extension “by Scandic”, will be characterised by their unique history and personality. At the same time, they will be developed as “clear social venues that aim to be natural meeting points for locals and visiting guests alike”, the company says.
Through these individualised hotels, Scandic is looking to satisfy the demands of travellers searching for unique hotel experiences.
The company will open its first signature hotel at the beginning of May – Haymarket by Scandic in central Stockholm, which will be followed this autumn by the existing Scandic Grand Central in Stockholm. The rebranding of the Marski is expected to be completed by spring 2018 and the Hotel Norge by mid-2018 after a complete renovation.
