Scandic tests tech on guests in Stockholm

Guests able to try out digital check-in and mobile room keys
Scandic says it is pressing ahead with expanding its digital development with online check-in and mobile room keys, both of which are being tested out on guests in Stockholm.
The hotels chain’s guests have been able to check in online since 2013. Now Scandic is testing digital check-in and mobile room keys at selected hotels in the Swedish capital. It aims to roll out online check-in at all hotels in big cities during 2017.
Guests in Stockholm will be able to test the technology, where “in just a few clicks, they will be able to check in quickly, choose their room and pay for their stay as well as use their mobile phone as a key instead of a traditional keycard”.
The new solutions have been tailor-made for Scandic and developed with Ariane Systems and Assa Abloy Hospitality.
