Scandic to launch collection of signature hotels

Aim is to offer unique experiences in distinctive settings
Nordic hotel operator Scandic Hotels is set to launch a collection of unique signature properties. The hotels will be marketed under their own names with the extension “by Scandic”, the first being ‘Grand Central by Scandic’ in Stockholm.
With each of the “handful of signature hotels”, the aim is to meet the demands of travellers who are looking for unique hotel experiences. Each will be characterised by its “unique history and character and designed as a distinct social meeting place”.
The existing Scandic Grand Central will be rebranded as Grand Central by Scandic on February 1 next year. The group’s extensive hotel development in the PUB department store building in Stockholm, Haymarket, will also be a signature hotel when it opens in spring 2016.
A selection of other hotels in the Nordic countries will follow in the next few years through rebranding existing hotels and opening new establishments.
Meanwhile, the group’s new hotel concept HTL, which so far includes four hotels in Stockholm and Oslo, will at the same time be tied more closely to the Scandic brand and will change their name to HTL by Scandic at the beginning of 2016.
