A lot of activities, entertainment and winter sports competitions are lined up in the Nordic mountain resorts.
The Swedish tourism company and ski resort operator SkiStar is promising ideal weather conditions in the mountains during Easter.
“The recent replenishment of spring snow and cold nights has meant that skiing during this late Easter has unusually fine conditions,” the company says.
The snow depth at its Scandinavian resorts is between 85cm and 115cm, with “exceptional quantities” in Sälen, Vemdalen and Åre, SkiStar maintains.
In Sälen, “the nice weather in combination with the cold nights has created high pressure on skistar.com, where we still see an interest in the last Easter bookings,” says Linda Morell, SkiStar’s head of communications.
Easter is typically one of the season’s highlights, with lots of events and artists’ performances, the warming spring sun and fantastic skiing, the company says.
In Salen, for example, there are competitions, outdoor shows, DJs, bands and parties.
Vemdalen also has a variety of live concerts, plus Easter egg hunts and a range of family-friendly competitions such as a super-G slalom, a speed-ski race and a long jump.
In Åre, the highlights are Easter competitions including speed racing on skis and snowboards, the resort’s usual exuberant nightlife, bars and restaurants, and children’s activity areas with shows, skiing and face painting.
SkiStar also promises excellent winter sports conditions and a variety of entertainment in Trysil, Norway’s biggest ski resort, and in the mountains around the village of Hemsedal.
