SIA introduces new payment option

Singapore Airlines is introducing a new payment option for airfares booked through singaporeair.com, as part of a significant enhancement to the KrisFlyer frequent flyer programme.

From today, members will be able to use their KrisFlyer miles to pay for Singapore Airlines and SilkAir flights booked through the SIA website.

Customers can choose to mix miles and cash to pay for their next airfare, including payment for fuel surcharges and taxes.

With a minimum of 5,000 miles to start using this feature, customers will have the opportunity to use their KrisFlyer miles earlier, and before they expire.

Together with existing award redemptions, KrisFlyer members will now have more choice in using their miles on any available seat and flight on Singapore Airlines or SilkAir.

KrisFlyer members can also use their miles to pay for air tickets for any of their five redemption nominees.

This significant enhancement to the KrisFlyer programme has come about as a result of feedback that we have received from our customers. We have listened, and are pleased to offer another option for KrisFlyer members to use their miles for travel on Singapore Airlines and SilkAir, said Singapore Airlines’ Scandinavia and Baltic director Alastair Hay-Campbell.
