Silversea in $170 million fleet-wide refit

Plan includes satellite antennas to boost internet speeds
Luxury cruise line Silversea has announced a fleet-wide refurbishment plan amounting to $170 million (€153 million).
Silver Whisper will undergo a refit that will be completed by the end of this year, with interior upgrades and new suites and bathrooms.
The vessel’s communications will get a major overhaul too, with the addition of two satellite antennas, which should give a substantial boost to internet speeds. There will also be new interactive TVs and on-demand movies in every suite.
Silver Wind, meanwhile, has a drydock scheduled for October, with interior, stateroom and major tech upgrades. Silver Discoverer will also enter drydock this October for upgrades.
“We pride ourselves on being the reference when it comes to ultra-luxury cruising and this investment reflects our long-term commitment in this regard toward our ships, our guests and our crew,” said Manfredi Lefebvre, Silversea’s chairman.
