Singapore airport goes Nordic

Changi launches month-long Nordic festivities
Singapore’s Changi airport has transformed into a Nordic wonderland as part of a month-long event aimed at inspiring travel to Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland.
Guests can walk through a Viking-ship gallery, experience the Northern Lights in a snowy landscape and take a stroll through the Old Town of Stockholm where they can take photos with a Dala Horse.
Other activities include a Lego play-corner and a dance mat for aspiring artists to create their own Abba remixes. Visitors can have fun in real snow at a Snow Fun House, building snowmen, checking out an igloo or riding a luge down a snowy slope.
There is a selection of Nordic animal toys to buy, plus a competition to win air tickets to the Nordic region. Spending $60 at participating airport retail and food and beverage outlets entitles two people to visit the Snow Fun House.
To start the festivities, Hello Kitty & Friends have been performing in the terminal in the form of seven dancing Nordic-themed characters from the Japanese company Sanrio. Even Santa Claus has made a special appearance.
