(Some) Nordic airports among world’s best

Copenhagen and Helsinki in top five, others way down
Singapore Changi is the best airport in the world, placing top in a ranking produced by air passenger rights company AirHelp. Munich comes second, Hong Kong third. These are the only three airports in the world to score 10 out of 10 for quality of service.
Changi coming top will be no surprise to anyone who has been there, with its countless facilities, pool, butterfly garden and cinema.
Fourth best airport in the world is Copenhagen Kastrup, with Helsinki Vantaa in fifth. CPH benefited from high on-time performance and quality of service but low passenger sentiment, while HEL had good scores all round.
Rounding off the rest of the top ten are Cincinnati Northern Kentucky, Barcelona El Prat, Madrid, Auckland and Frankfurt.
The picture is bleak, however, for airports in Sweden, Iceland, the USA and the UK. Reykjavik Keflavik places 47th on the list, Stockholm Arlanda 49th, both suffering from low passenger sentiment. Right at the bottom are Manchester, London Gatwick and Kuwait. Oslo is not listed.
In its first evaluation of airports – it also ranks airlines – AirHelp rated 76 airports over three months and analysed more than 130,000 tweets for travellers’ sentiments about the facilities. The full list can be seen here.
