Stockholm Arlanda sets new record: 23 million

Before old year was up, new passenger record revealed
Even before the New Year arrived, Swedish airport operator Swedavia announced a new passenger record for the country’s biggest airport, Stockholm Arlanda.
At 14:00 on December 29, Passenger Number 23 million passed through the security checkpoint in the airport’s Terminal 5, marking Arlanda’s new passenger record for the fifth straight year.
“This is testimony to the importance of Stockholm Arlanda and of air travel for access to and from Sweden,” said airport director Kjell-Åke Westin. “In passing the 23 million passenger mark, Stockholm Arlanda cements its position as the fastest growing airport in Scandinavia.”
Air travel to and from Sweden continues to grow. So far this year, international travel to and from Sweden is up by 8%. Since 2012, annual passenger volume at Arlanda has increased from 19.6 million to more than 23 million in 2015.
