Stockholm taxis on offer in 28 languages

Project inspired by firm’s international workforce
It’s no longer a problem to order a taxi in the Swedish capital in a foreign language. A taxi company has just launched a service with multilingual drivers, with up to 28 languages available.
Taxi Stockholm says its new Taxi Translators project is the first truly multilingual taxi service – and is an idea inspired by its international workforce.
“We have a lot of drivers from different countries – 90, to be exact. So we came up with the concept that you can book a cab with a driver who speaks the language you want to have,” marketing manager Carina Herly told The Local.
The service is available at no additional cost. Taxis can be ordered online, or through hotels that cooperate with the company. Spanish, German, French, Chinese and Russian are among the languages on offer.
