Strike threat in Finland for March

Possible air traffic strikes between March 3 and 13
Air traffic employee strikes may affect air traffic to, from and above Finland during the first half of March. The Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) has issued three strike notices.
The dates given by the union are the afternoons of March 3, March 8 and March 10. In addition, it has issued a statement of support for cabin crew actions organised by the union Pro, taking place from midnight on March 5 to 23:00 on March 6, and from midnight on March 12 to 23:00 on March 13.
Airport operator Finavia says it “will take every action possible with other air traffic operators that the effects of possible employee action towards passengers are minimised”.
Passengers are being advised to follow communications from their airlines. Finavia also promises to release up-to-date information on its own website.
The strike threat has been prompted by service company Airpro’s new general agreement that came into force on February 1 in adherence to a ‘competitiveness pact’ among employees.
