Strikes affect Heathrow transport

High-speed Heathrow-London rail services affected in two strikes

The high-speed rail services between Heathrow and Central London are affected in a 24-hour strike lasting into this afternoon. The Heathrow Express trains are still running but with a reduced service. The drivers and other staff employed by Heathrow Express plan to strike again in a second 24-hour stoppage on March 11-12, and union members will not work extra hours over the weekend of March 3-4. Heathrow Express is apologising to passengers for any inconvenience.
The employees are part of the Rail Maritime and Transport union. The action is in support of a sacked driver and the suspension of an official.
