Strikes hit travel to France and Italy

National and aviation strikes again affect flights
People heading to France and Italy are to be hit with cancellations and delays on Tuesday, July 5, because of strikes in both countries.
In France, air traffic controllers are on strike once again, this time as part of a 24-hour national strike against changes to labour laws.
In Italy, industrial action by employees in the aviation sector is likely to affect flights there. Alitalia staff are involved in a four-hour stoppage from 11am local time.
“Travel disruptions affecting air, rail, road and public transit are possible. Marches with the potential to cause traffic congestion are also to be anticipated, particularly in Paris,” Carlson Wagonlit Travel said about France in a note to clients.
Air France said that “delays are expected on our flights and last-minute cancellations can also be foreseen,” while Ryanair warned “flight delays and cancellations are likely”.
