Sun-Air closes two routes, opens one

Routes to EU and oil-industry centres to close
Danish regional airline Sun-Air will close two of its 12 international routes on April 29, from its base in Billund to Brussels and between Aalborg and Stavanger. But it will on Friday launch a new route from Billund and Aalborg to Humberside, eastern England, with two flights a week.
The Brussels route has been in operation since 2004, while Aalborg-Stavanger launched in August last year. Brussels Airport has been closed to most traffic since last month’s terror attacks, with only a partial reopening of routes.
The route to the Norwegian oil capital of Stavanger is being shut down due to the crisis in the oil industry, implying too few travellers.
Sun-Air, which operates as a British Airways franchisee, had 210,000 passengers last year and expects about the same number this year. Its fleet consists primarily of 15 Dornier 328 jets with space for 32 passengers.
