Swedavia cuts airport charges for 2015

Operator wants to offer “very competitive charges”

Swedavia has decided to cut airport charges by 3.7% from April 1, in line with the operator’s long-term ambition to offer “very competitive charges”. Reduced charges will relieve airlines in a market situation where competition is fierce and ticket prices are low, Swedavia says.

The cuts are being carried out through a series of adjustments in the charge structure and individual charge levels, with the purpose to support accessibility and long-term travel to and from Swedavia’s airports, for example through enhanced conditions for hub airlines and long-haul traffic.

Details include a 40% reduction in the passenger charge for transfer passengers at Stockholm Arlanda, Stockholm Bromma, Gothenburg Landvetter and Malmö.

There will also be a new cap in the take-off charge at 175 tons, a new structure for the terminal navigation charge, new local charges for ground handling infrastructure and assistance service for disabled travellers and travellers with reduced mobility, and a simplified and less administrative incentive program, with extended rebates for intercontinental passenger growth and new intercontinental routes.
