Sweden’s Michelin restaurants keep ratings

Star-rated restaurants in Stockholm and Gothenburg retain status

The new edition of the world-renowned Guide Michelin has been published, and Sweden’s glut of star restaurants have retained their status. Two restaurants in Stockholm have kept their two-star “excellent cuisine” rating – Frantzén/Lindeberg and Mathias Dahlgren’s The Diningroom. Restaurants in the capital keeping their one-star awards were Dahlgren’s Matbaren, Esperanto, Fredsgatan 12 and Lux Stockholm. The country’s second city of Gothenburg has a number of one-star eateries: Fond, Kock & Vin, Thörnströms Kök and 28+.
There is another category awarded by Michelin, Bib Gourmand, which is for restaurants with “good food at moderate prices”. Nine restaurants in Sweden received such an accolade this year, of which seven are in Stockholm (Brasserie Bobonne, Den Gyldene Freden, Proviant, Pubologi (newly awarded in 2012), Rolfs Kök, Sjögräs and Ulla Winbladh) and two in Gothenburg (Familjen and Tvåkanten).
