Sweden’s convention bureaus elect new leader

Sofie Lidholm of Västerås bureau to guide association
Sofie Lidholm from Västerås Convention Bureau has been unanimously elected as the new chairman of the Swedish Network of Convention Bureaus, during an annual meeting this week in Eskilstuna, central Sweden.
The summit of the non-profit association brought together members from 22 convention bureaus to discuss strategies to raise Sweden’s attractiveness as an international meeting and MICE destination.
“The SNCVB is one of the main players in the Swedish meetings industry. Together we work, 22 of Sweden’s convention bureaus, to pursue important issues to increase Sweden’s attractiveness as a country for meetings,” Lidholm said.
“I look forward to being with and operating the SNCVB going forward and contributing to the development of our industry. We have an exciting future in society, as we want to look ahead to a more international mindset and approach. It will be a fun trip to follow and lead.”
