Swedish teen arrested for murder in Thailand

Swedish boy claims he stabbed student in self-defence

Thai police have arrested an unnamed Swedish teenager, not yet 18, on suspicion of stabbing to death an 18 year-old local male student in a hotel room in the city of Amphur Muang in eastern Thailand. The murder happened on Friday, according to press reports, while the Swedish boy was in the country visiting his girlfriend. The girlfriend had also made contact with the 18-year-old through Facebook, and the three met at the Swede’s hotel.
There was a scuffle inside the hotel room between the two boys while the girl was locked outside. The student then opened the door covered in blood, and left. He collapsed and died outside the hotel. The Swedish boy claims he stabbed the student in self-defence.
