Swedish tourist stabbed in Hurghada attack

Tourists in Egypt attacked again, this time at resort hotel
One Swede and two Austrians were attacked with knives at a resort hotel in Egypt’s Red Sea resort of Hurghada, before the suspected Islamic State terrorists were shot by police. Sammie Olovsson, 27, was stabbed in the neck but was released from hospital on Sunday night.
Two attackers rushed into the Bella Vista hotel on Friday night carrying the IS flag and aiming to kidnap tourists, officials said. One assailant was killed, the other injured. Hurghada remains on high alert as other attackers are still believed to be at large.
Unfortunately for Egypt, this is the latest incident in a growing list of attacks carried out by jihadist fanatics, aimed at harming the government and driving away much-needed foreign investment and tourism, the BBC writes.
An Egyptian affiliate of IS is based in the northern Sinai, within reach of the country’s prized Red Sea resorts.
