SWISS marketing creates “dream travel job”

New employee will be called a SWISS Explorer

Swiss International Air Lines has launched recruitment for “a totally new type of travel job”. The successful new employee will be called a SWISS Explorer, spending six months touring the world, trying out the airline’s products and services, reporting on their experiences at the destinations and providing exclusive travel tips. The job has a start date of this autumn.

The new job is aimed at creative types who love to travel, explore and try out new things, and it’s open to any candidate from anywhere in Europe. Part of the multi-phase selection process will be conducted by public voting.

The employee will provide tips on the “in” addresses and locations and tourist must-sees. He or she will be sending regular written, photo and video reports on all their experiences via various channels. The new post will be “an ideal supplement to the website”, the airline says, as part of its recent site relaunch.
