SWISS to launch first Zurich-Bergen route

Bergen one of five new destinations for summer 2017
SWISS will be expanding its Zurich-based European route network for the summer schedules next year with the addition of five new destinations including, for the first time, Bergen.
Besides the southern Norwegian city, the Lufthansa Group subsidiary will be adding Cork in Ireland, Figari in Corsica, Niš in Serbia and Sylt in Germany.
The airline is aiming at Bergen partly because it is “the starting point of the Hurtigruten shipping service along the Norwegian coast”, but business and leisure passengers flying in the other direction will clearly also value the new route.
SWISS will fly the newly developed Bombardier C-Series twinjet on the Bergen route, which will get a weekly service from June 2017 onwards, going twice-weekly during July and August.
