Tallink net profit sinks 36% in 2014

Tallink posts €30 million net profit for 2014
Estonian shipping company Tallink has posted a 36.3% fall in net profit for 2014 to €30 million, down from €47.1 million in 2013.
The northern Baltic ferry giant carried 8.9 million passengers during the year, 2.6% less than the year before, according to unaudited results.
This includes a 3.4% drop in passengers between Sweden and Finland as well as an 8.8% in cargo carriage and revenue down 5.6% between these two countries. Tallink said this was mainly due to Silja Symphony and Silja Serenade being out of operation for a total of 80 days for complete overhauls.
Passenger traffic on the Sweden-Latvia, meanwhile, fell 12.5%.
