Harriet Green receives a Christmas present
The chief executive of the Thomas Cook Group, Harriet Green, has seen her total pay packet hit £2.86 million (€3.38 million) for the year.
Green, who joined the business in July 2012 and has overseen a turnaround in its fortunes, took home a salary of £680,000 together with an annual bonus of £1.79 million. The rest of her remuneration was made up of other benefits and pension contributions.
Michael Healy, the tour operator’s group chief financial officer, was awarded just over £1.3 million, which included a salary of £480,000.
Thomas Cook’s share price has jumped by more than 900% since Green took over. Last month it reported its first full-year operating profit since 2010. Hundreds of its stores are in the process of being closed and thousands of employees have lost their jobs during the turnaround.
