Thomas Cook to open own-brand UAE hotel

First smartline brand hotel in United Arab Emirates opens this year
Thomas Cook will open its first own-brand hotel in the United Arab Emirates later this year. The Ras Al Khaimah Beach Resort, under the operator giant’s smartline brand, will open its doors on November 1.
The new property will be smartline’s second in a long-haul destination after the Eriyadu resort in the Maldives opened earlier this summer.
The announcement brings the number of new own-brand hotels announced by Cook to be opening across its summer 2017 and 2018 programmes to 22.
The new openings are part of the company’s strategy to offer “an increased focus on higher quality holidays”, it said.
In line with other smartline hotels, the Ras Al Khaimah Beach resort is located close to the beach and has a contemporary design. It is 45 minutes from Dubai’s international airport and will boasts 253 chalets, a 700-metre private beach, inclusive Wi-Fi, three pools, four bars, coffee shop, buffet restaurant and spa. There’s also a complimentary shuttle to the Ras Al Khaimah Mall.
To support the opening, Cook and the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority have extended a joint marketing agreement that aims to increase its profile among European holidaymakers.
