Tourists spend to see breath-taking new bridges

Two amazing suspension bridges in Germany and China boost economies
Tourists are flocking to see a new bridge in Germany with dizzying views of the landscape below. The country’s longest suspension bridge sways more than 90 metres above Geierley canyon.
It reaches 366 metres across the forest between Morsdorf and Sosberg in western Germany. There are also many hiking trails in the area.
Construction of the bridge was completed in just 130 days and tourism officials hope it will attract 180,000 visitors a year, injecting €2.5 million into the economy.
Meanwhile, in China, a new glass-bottomed suspension bridge has opened. More than 180 metres high and 300 metres long, it is not for the faint-hearted.
Dubbed Haohan Qiao Bridge, or Brave Men’s Bridge, it runs between two cliffs in the Shiniuizhai National Geological Park in southern China. The two-centimetre thick glass is said to be very safe and is more than 25 times stronger than ordinary glass.
