“Travel agents to become online agencies”

Travel Leaders revamps its strategy for better accessibility

Travel Leaders Franchise Group is the largest travel agency franchisor in North America with over 1,250 system-wide full-service and client-dedicated franchised locations that produce annual sales of over $5 billion.
After the acquisition of the Vacation.com agency, Travel Leaders announced plans for a consumer booking tool for all brands, at V-com’s annual conference in Las Vegas, last week. It also promised agents that they would soon be able to compete with online agencies.
Customers would be able to book travel through members’ websites at any time of the day or night and the agent would be like “an online agency, plus personal service.”  Consumers will be able to connect directly with the travel agent.
The service will be available to all Travel Leaders Group members, including V-com, Nexion, Travel Leaders Corporate, Leisure and Franchise Group, and Tzell Travel.
Travel Leaders also introduced a new hotel booking program still in development called Stream; the hotel program expects eventually to reach a database of 120 000 hotels.
