Travelport management change for Nordics

UK and Ireland managing director takes over

Leading travel commerce platform Travelport is announcing that Simon Ferguson, its managing director for the UK and Ireland, will now also lead the company’s business in the Nordics.
In collaboration with the GDS’s existing Nordic management team, Anita Wagner Feddersen, Peter Cramon and Jette Kongensgaard, he will lead operations in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. The new arrangement means the further centralisation of functions to the company’s UK headquarters.
The former regional manager for Travelport Nordics, Mathias Andersson, will stay within the Travelport group, moving to a newly created role as chief operating officer of Hotelzon, a hotel distribution technology provider for the business-to-business travel industry, a wholly owned subsidiary of Travelport following its acquisition last year.
“The Nordics is one of the most exciting European travel regions, with digitally savvy consumers, suppliers and intermediaries and an optimistic outlook for both leisure and business travel,” Ferguson said.
“Simon is the ideal person to build on the great work achieved by Mathias Andersson in the Nordics and to help lead our business there to the next phase in its development,” said Damiano Sabatino, Travelport’s vide president and managing director for Western Europe.
