TripAdvisor reveals “best hotels” in Nordics

Lydmar Hotel, Villa Provence, the Stotvig and the Fabian
Travel review site TripAdvisor has announced what it says are the best hotels in the world as well as in the world’s continents and individual countries, chosen and ranked by millions of travellers.
In Sweden, the Lydmar Hotel in Stockholm ranks first, described by one guest as “The absolute best hotel ever and with an amazing view” and by another as having a “large room bigger than my first apartment in NYC”.
Second is Upper House in Gothenburg, followed by Gorvalns Slott in Jarfalla.
In Denmark, a property outside the capital ranks first – Villa Provence in Aarhus, said by one guest to be a “romantic getaway in the heart of Aarhus” and by another as the “best hotel of our stay in Denmark for sure. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Aarhus.”
Not far behind in Denmark are the Hotel D’Angleterre in Copenhagen and the Bandholm Hotel in the small port town of Bandholm.
Norway’s top two hotels are outside the capital, namely the Stotvig Hotel in Larkollen (“The best experience in a hotel ever”, “Excellent location, great facilities and service”) and the Solstrand Hotel in Osoyro. In third is Oslo’s highly rated The Thief.
All three top hotels in Finland are in the capital Helsinki: Fabian Hotel (“We love cozy hotels, so were pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon this place […] and it’s very affordable”), Hotel Indigo Helsinki Boulevard and Hotel Haven.
As for the Baltics, top in Vilnius, Lithuania is the Kempinski Hotel Cathedral Square; in Riga, Latvia the Hotel Bergs; and in Tallinn, Estonia the Hotel Palace.
And in the world, Umaid Bhawan Palace Jodhpur takes the highest honours, while the best hotel in Europe, TripAdvisor says, is the Bellevue Syrene in Sorrento, Italy.
