TTG in UK launches LGBT travel network

Network open to people at all levels in all sectors

TTG in the UK is launching a new initiative for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender professionals in the travel industry. Supported by Celebrity Cruises, the TTG LGBT Travel Network will celebrate LGBT people in travel – from junior to senior level and across all sectors, with the aim of encouraging openness.

The network will also encourage “allies” – companies and individuals in travel that are championing LGBT issues within their businesses and making LGBT people feel comfortable to be out and proud at work.

The first TTG LGBT Travel Network event will take place at the Conrad London St James hotel on April 9, with drinks and canapés as well as a speaker who will discuss their own experience in business as an LGBT person. There will be two more events later in the year. It will be open to both LGBT travel professionals and those simply wanting to support the initiative.

“Encouraging and celebrating diversity in business is important, and I hope that the travel industry’s specific efforts push more people to choose a career in our great sector,” said Jo Rzymowska, Celebrity Cruises’ UK and Ireland managing director. “We are proud to support the LGBT Travel Network and hope it provides the networking, advice and confidence for more people to realise their true business potential.”

Rzymowska is the highest-ranking travel figure in networking group OUTstanding’s annual list of the top 100 LGBT people in business.
