Viking and Tallink report healthy July numbers

Tallink sets new record of 1.15 million pax on all lines combined

Tallink set two new records in July 2011 – more than half a million passengers (520,244) on its Helsinki-Tallinn route in one month and 1.15 million people on all of its routes. The result on the Finland-Estonia line is 10% more than the previous July. Passenger numbers rose on all of Tallink’s routes, the ferry company said, including 424,550 passengers on Finland-Sweden (up 1%), 109,546 on Estonia-Sweden (up 5.5%), 88,371 between Latvia and Sweden (up 15%) and 16,891 passengers between Finland and Germany (up 10%). AS Tallink Grupp operates 18 vessels, under the Tallink and Silja Line brands.
Also in July, Viking Line carried more than 812,000 passengers, around 10,000 more than in July 2010.  The company said that its Tallinn-Helsinki line was a major contributor to the successful month, providing in excess of 220,000 passengers, a 5.1% increase y-o-y.
