Volcano ash pumped 2km into sky

Restless Mt. Lokon volcano erupts in Indonesia

A volcano erupted this morning in northern Indonesia, shooting clouds of ash into the sky as high as two kilometres. The country’s National Disaster Management Agency is warning residents to keep away from the volcano, Mt. Lokon in North Sulawesi. An exclusion zone had already been established around it following warning signs.
Six active volcanoes in Indonesia were placed on high alert by the country’s National Disaster Management Agency in October. Greater activity has been found at Mount Tambora in West Nusa Tenggara, Anak Ranakan in East Nusa Tenggara, Papandayan in West Java, Karangetang and Lokon in North Sulawesi, and at Anak Krakatau in the Sunda Strait, between Java and Sumatra.
