Windstar debuts first of new all-suite yachts

Luxury small ship line launches all-suite Star Pride

Windstar Cruises has debuted its new all-suite Star Pride in Barcelona during a christening ceremony and pier-side fiesta. The luxury yacht’s inaugural voyage will be through Spain, France and Italy. The development complements a growing trend in small-ship cruising.

The debut follows an intensive three-week period in which all of the yacht’s public spaces, dining venues and suites were updated. Updates include new furnishings, upholstery, lighting, wall coverings, carpeting, ceiling finishes, window treatments and floor coverings.

Star Pride also introduces Windstar’s new Destination Suites, which will eventually be implemented fleet-wide. Each showcases a Windstar destination complete with cultural décor and local art work.

Star Pride will spend its summer season in the Mediterranean before embarking on the company’s new itineraries to exotic destinations in Asia and Arabia.

Star Pride is the first of three new power yachts to join the Windstar fleet. Star Breeze will begin its maiden voyage on 6 May 2015 from Nice, and Star Legend will make its inaugural voyage on 25 May 2015 from Rome. All three yachts are identical, with guest capacity of 212 in 106 suites. At 10,000 gross tons, each yacht is 135 metres long with a breadth of 20 metres and six passenger decks.
