Wizz Air to launch 14th route from Malmö

Budget carrier to fly non-stop to northeast Romania
Central and Eastern European budget carrier Wizz Air is bolstering its strong financial performance with more routes. In May 2018, it will launch a new route to Romania from Malmö.
The flights to Iaşi, one of the oldest cities in Romania in the Moldavian region in the northeast of the country, will be three times a week, the first such route from Scandinavia.
It will be Wizz’s 14th route from Malmö and the third to Romania.
Once the crossroads of transport routes between Poland, Hungary, Russia and Istanbul, Iaşi is home to what has been called the most beautiful library in the world, the Gheorghe Asachi Library.
“Eastern Europe is one of the most popular regions right now, and we are really pleased that air links will be improved to one of the fastest growing markets, both from Malmö and Sweden in general,” says Peter Weindhandl, airport director in Malmö.
