Wizz to boost links between Nordics and Warsaw

Sixth aircraft allows budget carrier to tighten Nordic links
The biggest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe says it will add a sixth A320 to its Warsaw fleet from May 2016. Wizz Air’s new aircraft will serve four new routes from Warsaw, including Reykjavik, and bring more frequencies on routes to Stockholm and Oslo.
Frequency increases on existing routes from Warsaw include seven (from six) flights to Stockholm Skavsta, and seven (from five) flights to Oslo Torp, both effective from May 13.
Other routes with frequency upgrades include London Luton (26 from 23), Budapest (seven from six), Kutaisi (three from two), Birmingham (three from two) and Catania (two from one). All are effective from May 13.
Besides Reykjavik, new routes launching from Warsaw include Aberdeen, Bari and Bristol, all from May 13, as well as a new Poznan route to Birmingham, which will start operating from December 18 this year.
Wizz Air has seen a 30% increase in traffic on its Polish routes in the first nine months of 2015, compared with the first nine months of 2014. In addition to the sixth aircraft at Warsaw Chopin next year, the carrier will replace two A320s based there now with two larger A321s, starting next summer.
Since beginning operations 11 years ago, Wizz has carried 39 million passengers from Polish airports, equivalent to every citizen of Poland making at least one flight on the airline. It now offers 122 routes to 20 countries from Poland.
