Wizz to launch flights to Ukraine

Besides Kiev-Copenhagen, carrier to ‘liberalise’ Ukraine
Hungarian budget airline Wizz Air has announced the opening of more new summer routes from Kiev and Lviv in western Ukraine, one of which is to Copenhagen.
From June 18, it will operate between Lviv and Berlin Schoenefeld as well as between Kyiv and Frankfurt Hahn, Poznan and Lublin.
Earlier in 2017, Wizz announced it was restarting operations from Lviv with flights to Wroclaw, which will start from April. The airline currently offers 19 flights to eight countries from Kiev, including routes starting this coming summer to Nuremberg and, from August 26, Copenhagen.
Last November, Wizz Air began two new routes from the Ukrainian capital to Hanover and Wroclaw. Before that, it launched a route between Kyiv and Bratislava.
In January, chief corporate officer Owain Jones told Ukranews that Ukraine’s upcoming visa-free regime with the EU is a real game changer for the airline. He said Wizz Air would work to facilitate the ‘liberalisation’ of Ukraine’s visa regime with Europe as well as to liberalise destinations in Ukraine.
