World’s best beaches listed

Caribbean is home to the lion’s share of the finest sand
TripAdvisor has just named its top beaches in the world for 2017. Only four of the top 25 are in Europe, while the Caribbean is home to many more than that.
At number one is Baia do Sancho, Fernando de Noronha, Brazil, about which one reviewer writes: “As you walk through a small trail, you can’t imagine what awaits you. The heavenly view seems like a mirage.”
Second is Grace Bay in the Turks and Caicos, with another reviewer writing: “Unbelievably clear, clean water with hundreds of shades of blues and greens and white sugar sand beaches—ahhhhh!”
Third is Eagle Beach in Aruba, fourth Playa Paraiso, Cayo Largo, Cuba, and fifth Siesta Beach, Siesta Key, Florida. All five of the word’s top beaches are available year-round.
Lesser-known beaches that score highly are in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, on Easter Island, in the Whitsunday Islands and in Honduras.
The best reviewed beach in Europe is in sixth place overall, La Concha Beach near San Sebastian, Spain. Elafonissi in Crete, Greece, places ninth overall and second in Europe.
